When expanding a topic, is there a point where adding more supporting pages starts weakening the main topic signal?

How do you decide the right balance?

Yeah , there is a point where too many pages can start to dilute the main topic. If things get too broad , it can confuse both users and search engines . Better to keep content focused and only add pages that truly support the core topic.

Yes, adding too many weak or loosely connected pages can water down your main topic. The key is to focus on pages that are directly relevant and actually add value. Make sure they are well connected through internal links. If a page does not improve coverage or help the user, it’s better not to create it.

Too many supporting pages don’t help if they overlap or repeat the same intent they can actually confuse Google. What matters is a clean structure with distinct, non-overlapping topics that feed into the main page. A tight, well-linked cluster boosts relevance far more than a large messy one. In the end, quality and clarity decide the balance, not page count.
