can the extension count as EMD?

    I was wondering cause I Think I have a great domain,

    Is goog.le an EMD for google ? and if not, is goog.le an EMD for goog?

    Thanks. So an EMD.in will have less chance to be ranked than the EMD.com ?

    Well the TLD has a very low value in terms of rankings actually.

    There is an infinite debate about it especially with .info and .net /.com

    However, i can safely say that a .in will have less chances to rank well in google.us or google.co.uk even though you can find some oddities.

    I was wondering about this too - what about these new TLD's with endings like .shop or .music or .xxx?

    Doubtful the policy will change when/if these new TLDs are launched.

    That's pretty interesting stuff. I wonder if it will change once all the new extensions are introduced. I bet it will.

    The TLD extension doesn't make a name and EMD and it doesn't add in terms of search engine's rankings, but if you have a name hack that is "catchy" or "clever", it can help in terms of the public remembering your site's name. And a well-optimized site can rank in goog in spite of it's TLD.
