There is a lot of misinformation in this thread (no offense guys).
The OP has essentially already figured out one of the ways to "cloak" his affiliate link (which is not against anybody's ToS).
The OP has setup URL forwarding from
http://hisdomain.com ->
http://hisCBaffiliateLink.com (which should look something like this:
http://AFFILIATE.VENDOR.hop.clickbank.net )
When you visit a CB hoplink of that structure, you're immediately redirected again to the VENDOR's landing page. However, how CB hoplinks work is that it appends the AFFILIATE's ID to the URL.
So if the VENDOR's landing page were:
http://VendorsCBLander.com and the OP's AFFILIATE ID is "Delbiter" when you visits his hoplink, the final destination URL is:
http://VendorsCBLander.com/?hop=Delbiter
That last parameter is going to appear no matter what...no form of cloaking is going to get rid of it, aside from iFraming his entire affiliate link in a full page iFrame as the first reply in this thread indicated, however that can be considering breaking ToS since it's not cloaking...it's iframing. The only way to remove the ?hop= part is to have the VENDOR setup a script on their end to remove it when the page is finished loading. There is absolutely no other way to do it, as you don't have control over it (there is however a way to set your cookie and then redirect your traffic directly to their lander should you not be able to get into contact with the vendor to ask them to setup the script to remove the appended variable).
OP: What you've done is correct, provided you're forwarding your domain to the appropriate affiliate link structure like this:
http://AFFILIATE.VENDOR.hop.clickbank.net (or the encrypted version...doesn't matter which, and you're not simply forwarding your domain to
http://VendorsCBLander.com/?hop=Delbiter which doesn't set any affiliate cookie). If that's the case, you've done nothing wrong and what you're seeing is correct.
If you can't get into contact with the vendor, you can iframe your affiliate link in a 1px by 1px iframe (in other words, totally hide the iframe on your domain). Then redirect the traffic directly to the vendors page.
So you'd have the following code on your domain (without it being forwarded):
<iframe src="http://AFFILIATE.VENDOR.hop.clickbank.net" width="1px" height="1px"></iframe>
Then use a 1 or 2 second META refresh or a javascript redirect to redirect the user directly to the landing page. So if the vendors lander is
http://VendorsCBLander.com that is where you'd use the META refresh or javascript redirect to send the visitor to.
What the above does, is it uses the iFrame to set your affiliate tracking cookie. Once your tracking cookie is set, you're free to send the visitor directly to the vendors lander without the use of an affiliate link because you already set your affiliate cookie in the iframe.
You can check to see who would get credit for a purchase (IE - if it's working, you should be the one getting credit) by visiting the vendors checkout page. Scroll down to the very bottom of the vendors checkout page and you should see your affiliate ID (or affiliate = none if none is set, or affiliate = somebody elses affiliate ID).
To see this, you have to actually be on the clickbank checkout page...where you'd enter your CC details.
