how is it that a company can hire someone full time, (40 hrs per week), and a super great SEO job would be paid like $100K per year which would break down to $8K per month (at best) or $7700 depending how you do the math,
but then agencies can charge $10K per month (or more), where they work like prob 40 hours TOTAL and the same company would accept and understand this price.

Erhm I think they would be working on more than 1 account. :)

If one account is worth $10k/month, maybe they are working on 3-5 campaigns.

nope, $10K for one domain/website, and a few keywords. and companies pay this or expect to pay this, but then when they hire full time, they offer shit for 40hrs per week, and try to get them to do more !

There are many reasons to chose agency's over individuals:

-Finding competent SEO's is super hard.
-You might not have egnouth work for it being long term.
-It's easier to get buy in if the advice comes from a expensive outside consultant.
-hiring freezes but not speeding freeze

Also when you hire someone you have to calculate the overhead do a 70 000$ employ will cost you anywhere from 90 k to 120 k if you include the various taxes, office space, various tools, sick days.

I have worked in both sides agency and client side, the dynamics are completely different.
