Looking at my competitors backlinks I found a TON of these.

http://newplayers.whatsonstage.com/HighlightsFiles/?id=3408

If you go to these links you'll see a big button that says [enter site] and thats it.. No links on the page.

But then if you click the button it just goes to ww.google.com

There are a ton of these links showing up for my competitor in Ahref. These all rank 200+ in the ahref rank and are all do follow.

Any idea what is going on here?

If you look at the HTML source, it looks like there's a lot more content than meets the eye.

Must be doing something clever to hide all of the content from humans.

I've seen these too and it was for a page that was ranking #2 for a fairly competitive keyword...seems like a new linking scheme but I couldn't figure it out

The mans creating doorway pages which is serving google and other crawlers a different version of the website to people like you and me who visit the website directly.

Passing link juice from hacked domains to his domain in order to rank and get a better trust authority from G most likely?

Dodgy shit which will most likely get identified sooner or later.
