Can Someone Explain This Speed up Page Removal process

Hello

Some of my blog Got hit by Yoast attachment penalty ( where the plugin index attachment page creating low quality pages )

i did set those pages as 410 Gone but still its taking forever for google to remove those pages

I read this articles https://seo.run/news/how-to-speed-up-removing-urls-from-the-index but im not sure how the proper way to do this

1. list all low quality pages
2. create sitemap based on those url
   
3. submit that sitemap to search console

I that the correct procedure ?
