Hi, so I was looking up longtail keywords, and i came across this in my research:

Why does the top site outrank the one below it with worse PA and worse DA?

I am too new to understand the possibilities of this, I thought DA and PA are supposed to be a straightforward approach to how sites rank.

I'm only into the keyword research part of my journey, and I don't know what to make of it. Is the top site getting more recent backlinks? Or is the top site just using better social networking? I use the free Moz open site explorer, and I can't see how many facebook likes/tweets each is getting etc, so maybe that is it.

Below are the Moz readouts for each site if that helps (it only confused me further). Quality backlinks over quantity i guess?

Top Site:

2nd Site:

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

There are 200 factors mate. Just because PA and DA numbers doesnt make any site better than another one.

Aren't PA and DA used by seomoz only? Not that they don't matter, but Google takes gazillion+ factors when ranking sites - number of links, quality of links, age of the site, content, etc.

Oh I see, so DA and PA pretty much moz stuff? Didn't know that, I have so much to learn still :( Thanks anyways.
