Can someone explain me these Majestic stats?

Hi. Not sure where I should post this, though...

I'm using Majestic's free extension right now. But it actually doesn't matter.

Let's say (this is just an example, I'm not using this particular one) we have a domain, which looks like this: example.co.uk

When I check stats for this domain and access it by example.co.uk (and not "something.example.co.uk" or "example.co.uk/something" etc), I get the following stats:
for URL - TF/CF 12/17
for Subdomain - TF/CF 0/0
for Root Domain - TF/CF 6/5

So, how come? Isn't subdomain = URL here?
I can't get what Majestic treats here as URL, subdomain and root domain...

URL is: http://something.example.co.uk just as http://example.co.uk/whatever
Root is: example.co.uk
Subdomain is: something.example.co.uk

Stick with one and use that. The terminology doesn't really mean anything at this point.

Thanks for your answer. Either you didn't understand what I mean (maybe I wasn't good at explanation) or maybe I do not understand you.
Let's try again.

I'm going through a list of expired domains to pick some up.
The target domain is: "example.co.uk"

So, what I do is open up "example.co.uk" -> check the stats in majestic (with the extension) and get:
for URL - TF/CF 12/17
for Subdomain - TF/CF 0/0
for Root Domain - TF/CF 6/5

How come the URL has some stats while subdomain has zeros? If URL has some backlinks, they should affect the subdomain, right?

Not really, no.

Majestic counts into TF only the links pointed to the specific URL.

If you enter root there, it counts all the links pointed to all the URLs within that root.

Subdomains are treated as standalone domains basically.

But if you are asking why has root lower stats than URL, well, that's the nature of how TF is counted. Most of the time it's like that.

Ok, more or less I got it, thanks.

So, no matter which one has good stats (either URL or subdomain), I could pick it up, if everything around the domain is fine (backlinks, spam, etc).

I was just a bit confused with this and wasn't sure if I should or not take it.

Well, as I have said, pick one and stick with that. Ideally root, considering you have all the backlinks there.
