Can somebody advise good VPS hosting please

I am on Wiredtree for almost two years. I can only say good things about them. But since they are my first VPS provider (and last) I don't know how much that tells.

It is managed but I haven't bothered them much at all. I am not sure really if I could've asked for a WP install or something. You know you should talk to their online sales person through their chat feature on their homepage and ask that very question (AND come tell me too

Also, if you will go with Wiredtree make sure you look up the latest campaign available at webhostingtalk.com... They almost always have a campaign going for a free month, some discount or more resources.

You could try lowendbox (google it) who blogs about sub $7 /month VPS plans. The guy is pretty thorough in his research and unbiased. Even though he focuses on under $7 plans most of the places offer higher end packages.

Thank you for your answers. I went with vps.net and it looks good so far.

Actually I was with hostgator (reseller account) and it is really great for simple sites, but when you start asking something more specific their, support is very quick, but does not have any idea what is going on there.

Anyway, so far I am quite happy with my new vps, but will give you an update if something goes wrong.
