Hi Guys,

I have a old (age wise) domain that I finally am getting around to monetizing. I purchased a High PR link package from the link building marketplace. For link diversity, I also purchased some social shares, and pointed them at my domain. Is is a bad idea? Would Google penalize me for a sudden influx of social signals? I purchased them from Fiverr (very similar to several threads on BHW). I have always gone with only the High PR links, but I wanted to try something different this time and see if it had a positive impact. I was just curious about what the general consensus regarding these types of social signals, was.

For the record, I purchased 500 total shares. 100 on Twitter, Pinterest, MySpace, Stumbleupon, and Bitly. The seller claimed they were Penguin, Panda, and Google Panda V2 Safe, but I'm not sure.

Any input would be appreciated

I did 5k drip-feed over a month to money site from G+/TW/FB 5k re-shares/re-tweets each
is been now 2-3 months since the work been completed I didn't got penalized but I didn't got no ranking with this eather

Social Signals are not known to hurt rankings in any which way. All social signals are safe.

Social signals are fine. If you want social signals for ranking then the only thing that will work is google plus. You should use twitter and Facebook for networking, not pushing up your numbers. Also use fb and twitter on your tier links so they index faster. Hope that is useful information.

Social signals will bring popularity to your brand/site. So you don't need to worry about penalty, but be aware with the backlinks to your site. It may cause harm to your site, if you buy links from irrelevant or spammy sites.

Thank you. It's very kind of you.

Why?.....really just why?

Op your fine with the social signals. I've saw no indication they cause harm, although they need to be regular and meaningful to do any good.

Social signals won't help you get rankings. Period. Read some of Mark Traphagen's work.
