I’m exploring platforms for link building prospecting, and I’m curious about the potential of Snapchat and TikTok for this purpose.

Are they worth the effort ?

Thanks in advance!

If you're going after Gen Z-heavy niches, TikTok can be useful for seeding branded mentions that later help with outreach. Not direct links, but good for building noise. Snapchat’s too closed, not great for link prospecting.

Well Noted.

High informative input will definitely work on it as per your suggestion.

Thank you so much :)

Once again, it's only good mainly to drive traffic, and some minor trust signals, and brand visibility,
None of the social platforms could make you compete in terms of SEO, probably good enough only for super-easy niches/keywords

Got your point with a clear understanding on how to take things along.

Thank you so much again for a thoughtful input :)

You can, but why? You can also hammer nails with a compass, but that’s what a hammer is for.

Yes, they can be useful for prospecting and profiling, not direct link building. TikTok and Snapchat help identify active creators, brands, and niche sites behind the accounts. Once identified, guest post outreach is still the most reliable way to turn those prospects into real, editorial backlinks.

Yeah you can. Not the usual method, but you can find creators in your niche and reach out. Works if you don’t spam.

Interesting question! I think Snapchat and TikTok are usually seen as traffic or brand-building platforms rather than traditional link-building channels.

From what I’ve noticed, they can work for prospecting in niches where the audience is highly engaged and content is shareable. For example, if you find influencers or creators in your niche, you might be able to reach out for collaborations that naturally lead to backlinks.

Curious has anyone actually had measurable success generating links through these platforms, or is it mostly for awareness?

Snapchat is not effective for link building due to no link visibility or indexing.

TikTok can be useful indirectly for brand exposure and earning natural links.
