Hi guys, I have a pair of polarized sunglasses, and I’m wondering if using them while working on a computer has any effects on vision. Do any of you use them while working on a computer? If so, what has your experience been like? Thanks!

There are apps like RedShift to install that will polarize out the harmful light from your computer mimicking the sunset color which is natural for your eyes. You do not need glasses.

Okay bro thanks

Hey! I’ve used polarized sunglasses at my computer too. They can cut screen glare, which is nice for long hours, but sometimes the screen looks odd or dimmer depends on the display. Try it out and see how it works for you! Anyone else got thoughts?

Yes, that's what I've noticed. I can stare at the screen more comfortably, but I'm afraid it will have a long-term effect.

I think what @deppo suggested is a better option.

If you are having problems while looking at the screen, try adjusting the screen brightness/contrast to the ambient lighting first. Also, try changing the scaling factor and switching to the dark theme.

If you are still having a problem, consult a doctor. Follow what the doctor says. I don't think you should trust advice on the internet when it comes to your health.

I’ve tried using polarized sunglasses while working on my computer, but they made the screen look weird, especially at certain angles. Colors and brightness would shift, and sometimes the screen looked darker or had a rainbow-like effect. It wasn’t very comfortable for long use. If eye strain is an issue, blue light filter glasses or adjusting screen settings might be a better option.
