It's all about bulk content production. No human can compete with "automatically generated content" when it comes to production speed.
Earlier, quality wasn't great. But with new LLM based tools you can get something better than the lower end content writers out there at a fraction of the cost.

Make it look human. Use models or custom tools suitable for your usecase. Get some proofreaders who go through the content for factual errors etc.
Basically produce good content, but don't spam.

I've used Quillbot, initially my articles got ranked but after 6 month they got hit in an core update. Traffic reduced by 70%
