Can moderators make recommendations about services?

I am planning to post a thread under Hire a Freelancer - asking for good recommendations for providers of a specific service, in return for, say, $50.

1. Is it alright to ask for this recommendation from mods (or admins/staff members) as well and offer them a premium (since I trust seasoned mods more), via Hire a Freelancer?

2. Is it alright for mods/admins to reply to Hire a Freelancer threads, in this case?

Don't want to break any rules, so thought of asking before posting

Well, they do have the right to highlight people who do a good job.

Marketplace moderators and staff members wouldn't give a recommendation, as we can't show favour to any particular sellers.

Regular volunteer moderators are free to recommend services if they wish, however, as they are also members that can buy from services on the forum just as anyone else would.
