Hi. I need to launch facebook campaign for a gambling web-site.
I get that I may get banned easily because of ad and web-site content, but what I cant figure out, is whether targeting itself can cause a ban (for example, if I use "gambling" as a target interest)?

Facebook review normally check the "Ad Post" + "Ad Copy" + "Your Destination Website" so if you already knew that this can lead to BAN what's the point of asking about interests?

I don't think user interest can lead to BAN if the website and ad copy is fully compliant as per rules and policies.

The point of asking about interests, is that I could avoid being banned for ads and website (at least not right away) by using cloaking and not using straightforward forbidden stuff in ads. So I could run targeted ads at least for some time.

Am I wrong?

While I'm confident @CertificationsXpert knows what he's talking about, I think you should be ready for it to get nerfed in the context of current events.

Because of the case studies that have come out of people using Facebook to recruit terrorists and news stories of Facebook introducing extremists to each other, it's inevitable. However, it's inevitable in the way John Mueller talks about what Google is trying to do, so it could be anywhere from a month to ten years.

I have a suspicion they could, and already have for the terrorist stuff, but hobbies (like "gambling") are a bit more nuanced. "Gambling" isn't as black and white as "Joining ISIS" because not everyone who likes "gambling" is probably a spammer.

I know you can get banned if you target gamblers anonymous and things down that line (vulnerable people).

just cloak it. Use safepage site with a link about 'Best casino hotels in Las Vegas'

Changing interests may lead to re-moderation, but will not be the root cause of the ban.
