Can I switch my Web Host?

If I don't like my web host provider, can I always change it? Is it as simple as just changing the domain DNS and that's it? Do I need to transfer my wordpress stuff as well?

You'll need to have your entire website transferred over to your new host. They should be able to do that for you. Then you can switch your DNS to point to your new host.
 
Yes you can change the hosting provider if you don't impress with their service. And about the site, you can point the nameservers to the new servers IP.
 
Use duplicator plugin and make a exact copy of your site, that is all the setting, database in fact everything. Then download to your desktop the two files duplicater has made, now you have your site and setting ready to move to another host. Inside your domain provider change dns to your new host and re install your site. Takes about ten minutes with duplicator plugin. Easy to do and free to use.
 
Take care not to be offline long and not break anything on your sites.

I recommend you have the new site up first, then test it using a dummy DNS, then transfer DNS only when you're 100% sure it's up correctly.

Ample of hosting providers will help you to migrate the account and change the DNS.
It is always good to be at a safe side, I'd recommend you to take the backup for your account and it will help you for account migration.
It is not that big task or deal, just 5 to 10 minutes enough to do via SSH :)
 
Utd you can. You need to transfer Wordpress files and db, email accounts, DNS entries and domain registration.

I found that it's good to have domain registered in one place and hosted in another which makes transferring a bit easier, and also allows you to move host with zero down time.

As for the best Windows web host, I can say that M6 is considering to be the best and the most reliable one.
Have to rely on their tech support to set up certain settings, but they are very willing to do so, and they do it promptly upon request.

It is the perfect choice whether you are looking for business or personal web hosting.
 
Switching from host to host is generally not a good idea, for obvious reasons like downtime and IP changes. And if you are to move, make sure you move all the files, and databases and get both of them linked as well. Else, you will have your site cluttered until it is fixed.

Digitalocean is a good way to go. VPS for as cheap as shared hosting. ;)

Does it effect site ranking, if we are too much time offline, during shifting our host
