Can I switch from wordpress to self hosting?

I have already registered a custom domain name via wordpress website itself. Is there anyway to move this to a self hosting site as I want to add plugins etc as the main wordpress site does not let you install plugins unless you are on a self hosted service...

yes i think you can.
Just export all the posts, settings, categories and import on your server.

yes, for sure you can switch. Simply install wordpress on your domain and export/import your posts from your old blog to the new one
