Can I still use my ebay account?

All right, here's the story. I've been selling on ebay for 20 years and have been using the same ebay and paypal accounts for most of that time. I have over 3k positive feedback on ebay and everything on the ebay side of things appears to still be in good-standing.

I sold some ammo on a different site and accepted paypal payment for a few of the sales. Yes, I knew this is against paypal t&c but took my chances because ammo sales were going crazy. A few people left notes about "ammunition" and mine and my wife's paypal accounts were perma-banned (I used hers as well). In the meantime I haven't been able to sell my legitimate inventory on ebay because I have no way to accept paypal payment.

I have a few $k worth of inventory on ebay that I would like to sell and my sister said that I could use her old paypal account for the sales.

My question is this: Can I go into ebay and switch my paypal payment info over to her paypal account and call it good? Or will ebay know that my account was associated with a banned paypal account at one time and shut everything down?

To reiterate: Yes, I know it was a dumb idea to accept payment for ammunition on a paypal account I've been using for years. I decided to risk it for the biscuit and lost. Just want to know if anyone knows what will happen if I try the above. Thanks in advance!

ebay will eventually link those 2 together, paypal and ebay still share information

however, you can try to wait until your account is transferred to managed payments. then all payments go through ebay, and completely avoid paypal

You're better off waiting for managed payments to kick in...but yeah, technically you can use another paypal if its not linked to your name. Just don't link it to your ebay account directly...in the section where you create the listing, it asks you for your paypal email..just use your sisters.

But again, i recommend you wait for managed payments to kick in.

No they dont, i get that you think both companies have issues (i agree), but stop spreading misinformation.

Thanks a ton for the replies! I forgot I had heard about managed payments, but completely forgot about them. Waiting on that to kick in seems like my best option once ebay makes the switch. Does anyone know when they are making it mandatory for all sellers? My Google searches are coming up empty.

I've seen quite a few say they are being forced in by July 15, but i assume by the end of this year youll probably get an invitation

There is a link there were you can express interest in using managed payments.
