Ok, well I just signed up for Amazon Associates :) aka the referral program.

I got a few methods to gain legit traffic to my site once its set up.

But my question is, can I set up the amazon affiliate/associate on Wordpress? List the items there, then they obviously go to amazon, buy and everyone makes money? I just wana know if this will work on Wordpress?
Also, would I be able to sell my own items on top of this?
I am starting to buy wholesale, and sell on eBay, and amazon. So, would I be able to list my own items on the same site as the amazon affiliate site?
so, have the amazon affiliate area, then have my own are that goes through another payment processor?

I am looking into buying the theme Bazar, on theme forest, please look it up and tell me if that's possible (can't list links, I'm new)

Thanks a ton!

Edit: I've been reading about this amazon thing for a couple months, and you guys convinced me, but I can't seem to find this answer when I search :)

Yes, quite easily. There are a number of ways to do it, either with a plugin or just build your own links through the Amazon interface. Ad Injection is one plugin that you can use, there are others that are more Amazon-specific. Or you could look through Amazon's affiliate area, find banners, links, widgets, or even an aStore that will spin the code for you to put in your wordpress site.

I don't sell stuff through Amazon so can't answer the second question, though off the top of my head I'm pretty sure there's a program for that. Amazon links and widgets will work with just about any properly-done theme, just like any other advert campaigns you'll have to play around with ad sizes, positioning and such to see how well things look and work in terms of getting clicks. You might want to start with a free theme while you're getting familiar with ad placement before buying a theme.

OP.If i would be you.. i would go with two sites.
Amazon and your own products site.
Too much confusion for both.
Can you imagine people come to your website and, some products re direct them to amazon, and some offer them to checkout at the website. I dont know..i would be confused.
i would just go on 2 websites, but thats me
Its really cheap to setup 2 sites nowadays.
But yes... bottom line is. you can monetize your site with amazon, adsense, ebay or whatever in same time.
Good luck

Thanks guys! Sorry, I'm sure you see these noob threads often my bad!

but machine, what if I has a section for my own items, and an amazon section, and they were labeled? Bad idea?

Vote #2 for separate sites .. if you are selling similar or complimentary products (like accessories for consumer electronics devices) it will seriously p!ss off your potential customers if they want to buy more than one item where one is on your site and the other is on Amazon.

Always always think about your "customer", while you might be using Blackhat techniques to fool Search Bots sooner or later you're going to get a human potential-customer. If your site user experience sucks balls like Dog with nothing better to do with his time - you're not going to get many sales, on Amazon or direct.

Another thought, why not list your complimentary products on Amazon as well, sure they will nom a commission off you but you will have a slick end-to-end user experience and may even land "organic" customers from Amazon themselves.

Well as I stated, I don't see the problem if I had an amazon area of the site, and a site where I se11 items. I would label them too, I don't see why it would tick off customers.
also, it seems no one is looking at the theme I mentioned.

Also, I do se11 on amazon, I'm just tired of dealing with Amazon, and eBay. I wana go direct, but I do enjoy using those places

there are plugins that automatically scrap amazon products from a specific category, or by a keyword. it's very customizable.
also you can put the ref number of a product, and the plugin will scrap the picture and the description, put buy buttons etc.

Yeah you can use somehing like WPazon if you want to turn your wordpress into amazon store.
There are plenty of wso shares about amazon in the download section on BHW.
