Can I register a domain and after make a website?

Hi, so I know my domain and I m looking now for a web-building company.
WordPress is too difficult for me, wix nop.. however, should I keep searching for a good web-building company and register my domain with them? or should I register my domain with a hosting company and connect it to the web-building platform? What do you think? and which hosting company is the best?

I have 100s of domains that are bought and renewed every year without building a website on them.

Yes you can register a domain now and make your website in whatever platform later on and connect it to your domain by changing the DNS/nameservers.
 
Your domain doesn't have to be registered with the same provider as the host
If there's a domain you like and you are afraid someone is going to take it, there's no problem in buying it and later attaching it to a host of your choice.

Register it with a Domain Registrar instead like namecheap/namesilo etc

DNS/nameserver is something new for me... so let s say I register a domain today and tomorrow I find a good platform for my website. Then how do I connect my domain? is it complicated? do I have to change something or is just 1 click?

The nameservers are something you'll see in your dashboard after buying a hosting plan.

It will usually look like ns1.yourhostingcompanyname.com and ns2.yourhostingcompanyname.com.

You just copy and paste it under your domain's nameservers.

You'll get the detailed instructions from your hosting provider as well so it's nothing to fret about.
 
You can buy a domain alone, without hosting and later anytime buy a hosting towards creating a website. However, do not forget to renew the domain before it expires. Because if you let it to expire, then someone may end up buying that domain.
 
Just register domain from any registrar you like and you can look for web builder from any other site later.
 
Domain registrar and webhost is separate things.
It's better to have domain with reputed companies.

Yes, it feel overwhelming and complex at first. Once you find a webhost,
you can get dns or nameserver from webhost and enter it in your domain dns to connect the two.

You can learn it easily from google youtube.
 
Yes, you’ll just need to create the domain on a local server and migrate it over once you’ve finished.
 
It is always a good practice to register domain with one company and buy hosting from other.

One of the reason is that if the company decides to screw your business then it can either block your domain (then your data remains safe with hosting company) and if host decides to dump your site then your domain name is safe (and also the data if you have taken regular backups).

I was helped on one forum 18 years ago, so I will also write in detail :)

WordPress is installed in 5 minutes and everything is clear in admin panel

It's easier and better than website builders.

You need to buy domain from domain registrar (godaddy, namecheap, dynadot, for example) and then buy any hosting - https://www.google.com/search?q=hosting

In hosting dashboard:
1. add your domain in Domains section
2. create a MySQL database in Databases section
3. get ftp access (ip, user, password)
4. find NS servers in the dashboard, 2 lines like ns1.domainzxc.com and ns2.domainzxc.com
5. you can always contact hosting support for any question, they will help you

In domain registrar dashboard:
1. write in these NS servers in name servers section or something like

download Filezilla - https://filezilla-project.org/download.php
download WordPress - https://wordpress.org/download/
unzip WordPress archive and upload it to root of domain (without wordpress folder) using the Filezilla program via ftp (enter ip, logs, password at the top)

install wordpress according to instructions

and that's it, your site is working, you can write content and choose any free design in theme section.

Register with a registrar but always host with a different company.

If WP and Wix is too difficult to you, then just watch a few minutes of tutorial about Brizy page builder on YouTube.
All you'll have to do is just use one of their templates to launch your website.

Never do this, always take the domain control in your own hands. Just think what would happen if the web development company goes bankrupt or goes out of business after sometime? Or you've to change your hosting provider in the future. How will you change the domain name-servers?

It all depends on your requirements and budget. If you're just starting out, then go with the shared or cloud hosting plans.
 
Yes.

You can register the domain and then buy the hosting. When you want, you can also only buy domain any time and setup any time (1 year validation unless you buy more)

You can using other hosting and domain in other service.

If you are trying to setup a Shop or Store I suggest you to use Shopify is the best platforma for newbies. There are many tutorials in Youtube.

Shopify is very simple and easy to use (you can learn for free in youtube)
Easy to setup a store and many more...

Shopify is different, i wouldn't recommend use it for blogging... you will need to buy domain with them and hosting. But is the easiest way to start a store or selling anything.

If you are looking for a blog, just search for a good hosting with nginx or litespeed (web hosting with cPanel or directadmin)

I suggest you to register the domain as your own and connect it with web building platform.
Also, I recommend that you learn WordPress, which makes it very simple to create a website.
if you don't want to this , you build from it from web development company.
