Can i monetize my Youtube Compilation Videos?

I was wondering if i can monetize my Youtube Compilation Videos (like best auditions, worst fails, most funny videos etc.) As far as i know, i have to use my own content in order to run ads and since i don't own all these videos, can i add ads to my channel (like adsense)? Will i get paid? Will i have trouble>

Afaik, Yes you can monetize those vidoes unless someone send you a copyright claim.

You can monetize them. But expect others to copyright strike them right away. Once copyrighted, it will either be taken down or the revenues generated will go directly towards them.
