Hello guys,

I was thinking about making similar content as this channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/DailyDoseOfInternet/videos) - this channel isn't mine and this isn't any type of promotion.

I would like to make 2-3 videos per week in my language (no English) where I will show the most viral/funny videos from the internet in the last few days. It will always be commented on (what happens in that video) and the author of the video will be displayed in the video and mention in the description. All videos will be under 15 seconds long. Can I monetize this type of content?

Thank you so much.

"Welcome to your Daily Dose of Internet where I search for the best trending videos, or videos people have forgotten about, and put them all in one video. I upload 2-3 times a week to keep video quality high. I always ask for permission to share videos that I find!"

not sure but daily dose paid people for the videos he use
Yea I know about that but I was just wondering about generally using trending videos. As "Fair use" guidelines says you should be able to use someone else content if you add commentary, criticism etc. Does it mean if I just don't copy paste video but comment on it and make it only under 15 seconds with credit I should be fine or? For example reaction channels basically do the same thing - take someone else video and talk about it.

Maybe you will be able to create and publish them, but monetizing is another different thing.

YouTube does not apply the same rules to the big guys.

Well thats why I'm asking here. I thought someone has experience with this type of content.

Thats why I´m replying. I had tons of negative experiences with reused content (trying to monetize it).

Well that's kinda sad to hear this. I have been doing YT since 2013-14 and most of my channels were made using reused content. I made a lot of money on copy-paste channels only simple compilations since back to 2016 but most of the channels got deleted. I was thinking about starting something more serious but I'm not that guy to film myself and make unique videos (gameplay, vlogs atd). I would like to start something like top 5, internet compilations (with edit and unique commentary etc.) but as I hear it from more sides it's risky af nowadays since you spent a lot of time on those videos and after 5-6 months of hard work youtube will not monetize channel. That is kinda sad.

Don't rely in fair use only. Youtube doesn't judge your video in fair use protection, It's done by the court. I've a youtube channel doing review movie as well. Although my content is clearly transform and I just use a bit of someone's video, heavily edited but 1 or 2 months I got demonetize for re-used content. I tried to re-apply to YTP and got approve again. So I guess the bot is the one who demonetize me and when I applied again employee in youtube actually see my case and approved it.
It takes 30 days to re apply so It's really annoyed (My channel is demonetized 3 times)

If you want to monetize it, then do that with content-id method

I think the channel is an old channel. Replicating would be pretty hard in terms of getting views and monetization via YouTube adsense.

Exactly, same experiencie here, but I started 10 years before when you could upload 5000 slideshows with google pictures and profit.

I would not risk a lot of work nowadays with no monetization guarantee. There are some brands that allow you to be an associate and that gives you at least something.

Example: rap battles, if you want to make compilations or reactions about it in Spanish, you need to contact the main brand previously and they need to accept you as a YT colaborator. That´s some guarantee that YT will allow you to monetize later.

There are too many restrictions for such channels. For example, movie trailer reaction channels show the trailer in inset with people reacting to it. In your case, you have to show the entire video clip which could be an issue. Moreover, there are some parasites who live by copyright claiming such videos. You have to deal with a lot of mess in the process.
