Can I make Money Just By BLOGGING?

Hey everyone, as you may have gathered I am a noob to this whole Internet marketing scene. I am 18 years old and really want to start making some extra money on the side.

I've read countless blackhat methods on this forum section, given a few of them a try over the past 2-3 weeks. Sadly, they have all failed for me.

My question here today is, can i make money simply by blogging + using adsense!?

I was thinking of creating a Blog on the BODYBUILDING niche! Why? because I have a fair knowledge about it and it is a good hobby of mine.

I'm not asking to make big money Just about $20 a day , is this possible?
If it is, how long do you think it will take before i start earning $20 a day.

Also, i don't want to be writing articles since I'm not too good off a writer, is there a way around this?

So you want to make a blog that makes money, in a specific competetive niche (bodybuilding) because you have knowledge of it and it's a hobby...but you don't want to be the one to write the articles for it?

Is it possible? Yes. Very insanely difficult? Yes.

Why?

With that type of blog you're going to make your money through CPA ads and affiliate sales for products related to the bodybuilding niche like supplements, weights, stuff like that. In order to get people interested in that sort of stuff, you will need traffic.

In order to get traffic, you will need content, which you don't want to do yourself. Articles will cost you around $2-3 for bad ones, $5-7 for decent ones, $10 for good ones. Then you have to get the traffic, which can be done a variety of ways (SEO / Organic) traffic and/or social traffic is the best bet.

So let's try to realistically break it down.

In a competitive niche like that, your cost to host the site and get articles made will not generate enough traffic (unless you are an SEO / traffic expert) to even cover the cost of running the site.

It's certainly possible though, just don't expect to profit on the site for months (maybe even years, in such a competitive niche) unless you can find a micro niche to build around, or have a very unique site with very unique content.

I want to make $ as a chef but I don't want to cook. What you said makes little sense. You either will write or pay someone, either way there is much work to be done before you start earning.

Even i would not go no where near body building the word i would expect will be very high competition. Then the next point are you a proper body builder and have good photos of you and loads of customers to say your writing works you will need something like that for advertising it will be to high with adsense the next thing you dont want to write articles that means someone is going to have to write them for you very expensive you might be able to get to $5 a month but its going to cost you more money setting up then you will make

However, you lot do have a point! I just researched bodybuilding blogs and there seems to be thousands of them allready out there. + like I said im just a beginner so SEO is going to be very difficult for me.

I Guess I should just do a bit more research, and find a profitable niche.

The short answer to your question is: Yes.

However, if you are the one with the knowledge in your niche (bodybuilding), then you will have to do much of the writing yourself (especially if you want to keep costs down). If you are not a good writer, look into having someone edit your posts, give you writing tips etc. Read the major blogging related websites for tips and ideas for your writing.

The good thing about a niche like bodybuilding is that it can be easily broken into smaller pieces. Break it out into a specific aspect, and build from there.

Do some reading in the Whitehat SEO / Link Building forums here on BHW. There are some great primers to SEO, KW research etc. that will help give you the skills and knowledge to determine which direction to take your site, as well as how to start ranking.

If bodybuilding is something that you are personally into (and qualified about, good at etc), this could eventually be a great place to launch your own products if you can properly market yourself.

Don't be afraid of hard work. Just do it, learn and you'll find some success.

Instead of blogging for yourself, why don't you sign-up to a site where people pay you to blog? That might be a lot easier to start out and you should easily be able to make money pretty quickly.

You can be a freelance blogger, sites pay big money doing work for them.
