Can i index url shorteners?

When it comes to indexing URL shorteners, you may have to face some difficulties. However, it depends on the situation. If it's a redirecting shortened URL, it's not possible to index it most of the time. Search engines such as Google needs the destination of the link. If the shortened URL is more authoritative, such as a home page, then there's a possibility to index it.

You can, however, you should consider which service to use as some have bad reputation of being used for spamming. Maybe you could stick to Google's URL shortener for such.

Google index 301s for a while therefore, its completely possible to index shorteners. In fact one of the most interesting things is that one site that is ranking in my niche is a redirect to my own site (it's an agreement I did with the owner). So despite of how bizarre this looks, this 301 to my site has been ranking top 3 for more than 1 year so far.......
Not sure why would you like to do so, but it has some practical uses. But if you are looking for authoritativeness with this, you are losing your time

bitly or other shorteners just redirect thus the destination is different... thus you can't index bitly redirect link as there's NOTHING to index there, you can ONLY index the final destination.
For example: t1nyurl.com/example redirects to bit.ly/example, then bit.ly/example redirects to example.com. Search engines may index ONLY example.com as it's the final destination of redirects (I say maybe example.com will be indexed as search engines don't index every single page on the net).
