So I have a host, its a basic plan but a VPS. It's pretty big and more than I need for my website. I pretty much devoted the whole thing to the website.
I am wondering if I can host a second website on the same space?
I do I have a VPS with Liquidweb (Storm) and it's a basic 2GB memory 1 CPU. I run about 10 different websites on it and don't have a problem.
The sites don't get massive traffic but two have autoblogs on them.
I don't worry about it because with Liquidstorm it's easy to upgrade (one click) so if my responce times go down I have the option of easily adding more resources.
if the traffic isn't massive, you don't over use your resource regularly, why not? go ahead and setup the next one, the 3rd, 4th ...etc till you believe/experience its enough!
check with your provider on how much diskspace and bandwidth are included with you vps plan. if its more then a small amount you should be able to host multiple sites no problem
