Hi BHW

Short Q:
Can i hide an Amazon affiliate link behind a custom .png button? And is it allowed to 301-redirects to create pretty URLs? :)

Thank you in advance! ;)

You mean use a .png extension as the url, and then redirect to your aff url ? yes, it is possible, you need to edit your htacess file to read .png extensions as .php, create a dummy .png file (which will actually be treated as .php), and put the redirection code in it.

When i read my question now, i see that i forgot to add this: Is it allowed by Amazon?

This a site i want to last for a long long time.

Basically what i want is to create my own buttons and put an affiliate link on it. But through the Amazon Associate "tools" this doesn't seems to be possible and therefore i was curious about if it's even allowed at all.

Bump with love. <3

Why don't you use HTML tag?
Just google "html image link tag" or upload a button to your site and if it is wordpress, you will find redirector in picture's settings. :)

Because i don't need the HTML links, i need the links to be on my custom .png buttons. :)

- But is allowed? I just don't understand why they don't provide you with a naked URL then.
