Can I have a gaming Channel without any problem?

Hey mate...

I hope you all are doing very well...


Just going to start a gaming channel on YouTube (GTA5, Need for Speed, etc) and record exciting parts of the games, edit them a bit an upload them on YouTube... When it comes to copyright and being on the safe side of any kind, I am wondering if it is OK to do that? Can I monetize such a channel without any problem?

Well, I understand that you would be doing things right. Just try to avoid copyrighted songs, or use other people's content in your videos and you'll be fine :)
 
Highly profitable niche (gamers) - with lots of competition.
Still, if you are a good gamer and can show some tricks, you may be able to make it good.
Go for it, nobody is going to stop you!
 
Adding face cam or voice over will make it interesting and have no problem in monetizing

Check with current live streams on YT/stream platforms for most watching games
 
Adding voiceover will be great. It's a very competitive niche though.
 
Cutscenes and such are copyrighted but it falls under fair use if there is commentary
 
Almost all of the game developers WANT as much content as they can get on those platforms. Honestly, never heard of someone trying to get rid of the content. You can do that without a problem.

Gaming is nowadays a great niche to do in YouTube. Have patience, adhere to guidelines and if you are passionate about it and have good knowledge about it, then go for it.
Monetization : Firstly, getting accepted into the YouTube Partner Programme (YPP) and then taking it from there. But, do bear in mind that video game content may be monetized if the associated step-by-step commentary is strictly tied to the live action being shown and provides instructional or educational value. Videos simply showing a user playing a video game or the use of software for extended periods of time may not be accepted for monetization.

Well, a while ago I heard from a gamer and YouTuber that uploading game videos on YouTube sometimes it needs the allowance, authorization and/or something like that, coming from the game producer(s)... That's why I decided to start this thread to make sure that I'll be on the safe side of any kind really if I capture such videos and upload them on YouTube and other social networks.

As I read through your inputs here, It seems you guys don't believe in something like that (Which of course is a good news to me).
So what they guy told to me is a rumor as I see it now.

So the YouTubers who are in the game field (Say like this guy who is uploading game videos of GTA, BeamNG drive, etc) they don't need any permission/certificate and so on taken from the producers before they go for uploading such videos...
 
You don't need to do anything, just make and upload.

Literally the only time I heard something like that, I just remembered it, it was when PewDiePie and/or Markiplier said something controversial on Twitter, the developer from the game called Firewatch, claimed their videos as they did not agree with their views. If you ask me, that is such bullshit and a bad move for the developer. Other than that, just upload.

Ah, there it is. Pewds said the N word and these guys jumped on the controversy just to get their name even more out there. Fucking lame.

Aaaaaand of course, the fucker deleted the tweets which just confirms my theory that he only wanted more fame. Pewds had 5.7 millions views on the video and then they were like, nah, we want it removed from your channel.

So, you are safe.
 
Yes you can do it, I have some videos of Skyrim that are coming up on 10 years old, and they still get hundreds of views a week. Check how old that game is!? lol
 
Which Gpu do you have and Which software are you using to record gameplay , Or you are getting gameplays by stock drives !
