Can I grow my site WITHOUT adding backlinks myself

I want to know without thinking of or doing seo myself, if i was to get a domain setup a blog and index url and start posting unique and useful content, not seo content, just real useful content and start posting daily will my site grow slowly and start getting visitors

google must give you some chance somewhere as your not allowed to buy links so there must be something to help you try gain natural links.

Yes! You are on your way to an authority site. It will take time but with persistance and engaging useful content your hard work will spread naturally. Lots of people must want it and it must be irresistable not to share because it is sooo great. Making things beautiful and easy to share is what you are looking to do. "SSO" or "Social Sharing Optimization" (Dibbs!)

Yes, it is not essential that you practice optimization techniques in order to be found in search. SEO can help you get found faster but it is by no means necessary to show in search at all. Sometimes it can be easier to rank higher in SERP's by not focusing on optimizing your site for search engines.

No without back links i don't think it will get top rankings in SERP but having few back links from top quality sites will surely help you in getting at top faster.
 
I guess the quality of the back links is always the important thing. You can have 100 shit links and they will amount to basically f-all but 1 or 2 links from really authoratative sites and you will certainly benefit.
 
I have ranked a couple of pages to number 1 without backlinks. They are low competition keywords though.
So it is possible but not really recommended.
 
Get decent content on > 6 month old domain and then get professional SEO Agency. If want to monetize your content.

Alternatively it is nice hobby to get ranked (one of my fried does it for fun currently).
e.g. My friend has the best Java Performance content I've ever seen and slowly moving page by page for "Java Performance". Note: Some forum posts to make visibility still required.
 
That is so true getting good high ranks is not essential all the time, you should focus more on optimization of your site and provide good content, Serp will naturally notice your website.
 
Your best bet is to rank for non competitive long tails with High PR homepage links that are contextual to your niche. Google can't penalize you for that, even manually.
 
everyones talking about getting backlinks etc, i dont want to do this as your not ment to i just wanted to if i can grow my site without doing any seo ever
 
eleco, the reason why you wont find an answer here is because everyone here build links to their site
If a website is good and has unique information you can rank and it will grow naturally. dont worry.
It will take longer for you to rank but you will eventually, and thats what matters. :)
