Looks good. I think that you should turn the red down a bit though like you said. Also i don't really like the circles background image, but apart from that it looks like a good site.
yeh try classic bodybuilding pictures in black and white. sounds good. or just try a plain color like black.
try a black gradient, adsense after each article?
I like the site dont think need to change the design right now, but as for your adsense placement.
You see where you got the square box to bottom right put that at the top where you got News highlight, you also got a banner next to your logo, you could put a adsense banner there instead.
you could also put in an extra adsense link unit at the top or actually just under those page links you have.
heheh thats exactly what i do, comes in handy for other things.
I do get some twats put in some f????? up email addresses though. but i just clean them out.
ClownBaby: props 4 putting yourself on the line with the request 4 (constructive) criticism.
I actually kinda like that red. I think it doesn't gel with that dark-blue cheese-grater BG.
I'm not an artist, except by the stretch of my own imagination, but what about a color
backdrop from the 70's of Venice Beach in all its glory? Or a collage of workout notes
from actual bodybuilders? I also think a gold tone, like a bunch of bodybuilding trophies
from all of the major competitions or w/e, would work well as a background. Few ideas.
Also, it kind of seems 'unfinished' or at least containing filler with the News Highlights being
basically the exact same as the Latest News section on the same page. Can you add
dif content for News Highlights or perhaps connect it to a Twitter, FB, YT, etc. feed...?
I don't know, something that wouldn't require much maintenance--unless you're actually
planning on monitoring this baby closely. Then I'd go with either all unique content and/or
a mixture of auto+unique-content. "National", AP-style up-to-date articles can give your
site a bit more of a trusted, unbiased feel to it as opposed to just tooting the horn of
another new weightlifting/bodybuilding site <== generalization here, not yours of course
Well, what's your ultimate intent with this site?

You know it is refreshing to see a thread like this....someone asking for help and seasoned veterans giving good info that we can all use.
Much appreciated.
...that news highlights area i am going to change to an INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTs. I am going to start doing interviews with fitness and bodybuilding people.
Again, I really like your initiative here. I believe it's helping a lot of people, FWIW.
Personally, and I'm obv not a lawyer, I would put up some interviews that
have already been conducted for the time-being.
I'm sure you could find--and appropriately credit of course--some
Ronnie Coleman or Ahnold (video) interviews that could fit the bill....

Did anybody else read this?
I actually really enjoyed it.... :nemoflow:
Inspirational, even for a non-Austrian like myself.
Also, I do remember that Popularity Contest plugin a few years ago. I don't know
if it's relevant still or at least prob not in this case though.
And just to reiterate, I agree that you could easily get away with, and
possibly benefit from, more Adsense.
I'm not the right guy to ask but, huh, someone here is telling me that I "always" say
"Can't you iFrame something like that?" in reference to your outbound 'referral ID'
link to bodybuildingDOTcom (Top 50 Supplements), etc.
One last note to/for the above: I would change it to - "Top 50 Most Popular Supplements Ever" or something like that.
