Hi I have a wordpress blog hosted by godaddy. I m paying $35 every 3 months, or something like that. Do you know if I can freeze it or cancel it and pay $0 (and ofc no online activiti). And also I need to save everything I have on the blog cause I wanna reactivate it in 6 months or more...

I can't understand what's your situation, but I think you chose the wrong provider.

Godaddy is notoriously for everything, shittest service ever in history, why choose it?

Let me save you. Now register an account on Namecheap, and tell customer support move everything from Godaddy to Namecheap, for free, also, their services are very cheap and reliable.

Good luck, do it.

Stellar - can host 3 sites
First year: You pay $21.88

you could download a backup of your website to your pc, cancel your godaddy hosting account and re-register (hopefully to a better provider) in 6 months. don't forget to Not cancel your domain.

Transfer to another hosting service and never waste time and money with Godaddy again...

I just step here to confirm what the other members say, you should definitely switch to Namecheap

Do a back up
Full back up
DB + Files
Shut it

host it somewhere else with cheap

For starters there are many decent options like hostkoala that give good performance.
I have a few pbn & small client sites hosted there as low as $5 an year.

Move your domain out of godaddy either to namesilo or namecheap.
Migrate to a cheaper host with decent performance.

This is the way to do it. I don’t know a server company that allows you to pause your subscriptions. You have to cancel it and subscribe again when your ready

There are a ton of cheap hosting providers. There are some unlimited deals on appsumo as well. You can transfer your website to the cheaper host and let it sit. When you're working on your site again and anticipate a large number of visitors just move it again to a proper host.
No hosting company provides an option to pause. Shopify does but they do charge a little something to keep your data hosted, but that is again irrelevant in your case as they only do ecom.

Backups can be downloaded from your current hosting account and most cheap hosting providers have them available so that you can select them and upload them.

Hi
Install wordpress plugin called : Wp Duplicator , than make backup with that plugin you will get zip file and php file. After 6 months just upload that files and open that file on your domain : http://www.yourdomain.com/installer.php and you will basically install your blog in 2 minutes and get all back and live.. you can upload it on different domain also using this method.

Hope it helps.
Cheers.

First, re-register your domain if still available. Next, buy a new webhosting package and ask support if they can upload your website for you, most of them would be happy to help. If you want to do it yourself - Extract the contents of the backup, upload wordpress files to public_html folder, make sure you recursivley chmod wp-content/uploads folder to 777, create a new database and import your database, then edit wp-config.php with new db credentials. if you think this is too much, just hire a freelancer to do it for you - post in Hire A Freelancer section.

Renew your domain first - 2 days is nothing.
Transfer your domain to Namecheap.
Upload your download whenever you want to wherever you want but never use Goddady again.

GoDaddy is shtdaddy. Screw it!
Save yourself of all the hassles. Move your properties to Namecheap.

Peace of mind.

After the domain expired godaddy stole it... I didn't expect that because it is my family name... Who would want it?
Is possible now to just register a new domain on namecheap and upload my backup file blog?
