    hey,

I have chosen a niche to create a website in and have the keywords to target

There is only 1 or 2 other niche sites to contend with, and they more based in a broader niche, who just happen to be selling my narrow niche product.

However, the main competition comes from amazon and eBay results on google search, selling the product. I plan to become an affiliate of eBay anyway, my question is, can I compete with amazon and eBay, or should I chose a new niche?

    thanks!

let me know if you want me to explain what the niche is

You won't beat them, so you might as well become a seller on both. I would think there would be some keyword variations that aren't being dominated by them, however. So your website will still come in handy.

don't listen to people that doesn't know what they r talking about.
outranking ebay and amazon is pretty easy, make sure you have a lot of great unique content and some good backlinks.

You can beat them, but you'll have to work very hard every single day to achieve it.

You can but the costs will surpass the earnings. So, to answer the question, you can but it prolly won't be profitable.

Yes, you can, but it might require a lot of investment (especially for outranking amazon) Ebay listings might be easier to outrank than you thought.

The likeliness is low but if you did it would take a lot of money! Good luck anyway :)

The good thing about those website is you can sell and create a presence on them, so you can piggy-back on their audience.

Amazon has a lot of affiliates, and a lot of contextual backlinks pointing towards the category/item. Its not going to be an easy journey.

However, if you find a different way to drive traffic than Google search, then its definitely worth a try.

Would'nt be easy, you should become an affiliate of both, and target a variation of keywords that they are not(as someone pointed out above).

I think in both of our limited lifetimes, you wouldn't be able to. best option is to join em both as a seller.

You won't ever outrank them, but it doesn't matter. You can still show up in the top five results for those keywords.

I wouldn't bother. Maybe if only first place is taken by Ebay/Amazon and if there is a good amount of traffic and ranking 2nd can get you chunk of it.
Them taking over searches is frustrating sometimes, one example, Ebay is first, EMD with good backlinks is second: http://prntscr.com/3a6gyu
