But if you change it from pets to... I don't know.... say cars for example, or sushi or other non-related stuff like this, you might not be able to rank it in google. You might still be able to rank it in bing, though as bing and other search engines are not as paranoid and manipulative as google... not yet at least...

But yeah, don't change the topic to completely unrelated stuff. A non-related backlink that's indexed and ranking is still better than a 100% related backlink that never gets indexed

I buyed clean expired domains, with good links on it, DR and DA above 20, no spam, etc.
Some of the expired domains are in my target languages, some are in other languages.
Many of them are not in the same topic than mine, but the price was too good for the metrics, and the fact they were clean and without any spam or manipulation.

My question is: should i change totally the topic, by just creating a new blog on it and posting quality content, or should i build a blog on the same topic they were, and find a way to link from my website ?

But linking from the homepage might be bad if other red flags are detected on top of this, so I wouldn't do it. Just be happy with less so you can be safe
