Depends on your engagement and how you set up the ads.
If really really targetted then you can get followers for pennies.
If you use the default settings and just blast ads everywhere your follower cost will shoot up.
Ideally you use the ads to make content go viral, then get free followers from the viral shares. That's the cheapest way to grow organically.

On the first tries you will fail and don't get a lot.
Either you need lots of tries with less money or you have a lot of experience with ads and know your target group extremely well.
