Will network have any problem if I blank the referrer ?

Thanks

Some networks, like CJ, will ban you if you blank, while most other networks are fine with it. Read their terms and conditions, and double check with your affiliate manager!

My CPA networks never banned me straight away - actually never at all. They will get curious and ASK about your traffic. So just be sure you have a plausible explanation for your activities and a site to show (even if it was not your real source of traffic) that would satisfy them. They won't know the amounts of traffic on your site even if it was zero.

Sometimes when the offer accepts email traffic you can see that as a permission to blank traffic. If you open a link from Outlook for example, what would the referrer be? Blank.

So that's one way of doing it.

I wouldn't rely on a URL shortening service. It's not very hard to do it yourself...

Yes, they will ask about your source. Either do as mentioned above, and have a site ready, or just tell them that they should know this business well enough to know that you never reveal a good traffic source.

Last time my AM called and asked, I just said, "Are the leads good?" and he said yes, then I said, half joking, half serious, "well, fuck you very much then!" He just laughed and said "ok, we're cool."

Of-course you can blank your referral ... But in some sites it is mandatory to put your referral name ...

Whether you blank or not most networks don't care, however let me tell you you can gather a lot of information even if you think you're doing a good job. Check your referrer on an iPhone using Safari for example. Check what info you can also gather from PHP server variables - you're not as hidden as you think.

If you feel you have to blank the referrer because you don't trust the AM, then do not deal with that network in the first place. Networks could honestly care less where your traffic comes from. Advertisers are the culprit here. They have their targets and if you're not meeting or EXCEEDING them, then they're going to ask what's up.

There is so much fraud out there that CPA networks deal with daily that it would blow your mind if you ever experienced it. It's nothing personal against you when they say no blanking referrers, it's just business.

Also blanking the referrer isn't 100% untraceable.

Can bitly blank referrer

bit.ly does not blank the referrer. It will pass on the ref info. You can use referer.us but many in this forum are not happy with it. There are other sites which offer blanking service such as anonym.to

@OP : I think you can blank referrer for incentive offers, but I suggest you better prepared if your AM asks about your traffic source.
