I'd like to backdate posts on my wordpress blog. I would like to write enough posts that it looks as if my blog has been around for 1+ years. Is this possible?

Yes you can, while you are making a new post, look at the right side in the widget section and you will find scheduler and other cron job stuffs.

On a CPA site I used to have, I kept updating the post date every week, to the current date. So that the information seemed more up to date for people looking to purchase the product, lol.

You can modify your post date but the SE's and internet history sites will still have the true record.
