Hello felas,

I'm exploring different methods to record video content from mobile apps that implement DRM to prevent screen capture. I'm considering an external hardware approach involving an HDMI capture device, using a setup like this:

  1. Connect the mobile device (iPhone/Android) to a Lightning-to-HDMI or USB-C-to-HDMI adapter.
  2. Connect the HDMI output from the adapter to an HDMI capture device.
  3. Connect the HDMI capture device to a computer (Mac/Windows) to record the incoming video feed.
Has anyone here successfully used this method to record DRM-protected streams from mobile apps? I'm particularly interested in understanding if this setup can effectively bypass DRM protections typically found in streaming apps. Any insights on the setup's reliability or any potential issues to watch out for would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for sharing your experiences!
