Can Google mistake your content for duplicated content because you are using Google Docs?

Hello folks,

My copywriters always share with me the content for my websites through Google Docs, and they are public (anyone with the link can view it). Does this mean that Google indexes it, and then when they will be published on my website, Google thinks that they will be a duplicate? Because in that case, it's a big issue lol

First of all, the doc will hardly get indexed until someone tries to index them. Why don't you told your copywriter to make the doc private??

If the doc gets indexed before you publish the content on your site, it may be treated as duplicate content by Google.
 
I dont know for a fact but google stacking used to work pretty effectively back in the day so it can have an impact.
 
If the content got indexed before you post it on your site, its duplicate. Simple.
 
Yeap, it could be. Was a big scandal about that, when "private" docs, searched in google.
 
lol never thought about this.. you have a point there. May want to ask your writers to make the files private
 
Right, it seems you all guys agree that the content needs to be private :D I'll ask my writers to do that. Thanks folks! Hopefully this is helpful also for someone else in the same situation.
 
Is there any issue on saving contents on google drive?
 
If Google docs gets indexed on Google before your website post is indexed that should count as duplicate
