I'm beginning to think that Ethereum might soon upstage Bitcoin as the top crypto currency, especially because of the utilities within its ecosystem.

I recently came across a platform, Eigen Layer, that allows Ethereum stakers to restake their ETH or liquid staking tokens (LSTs), which basically opens them up to more profits.

Coupled with smart contracts and DeFi solutions, I really think it will be number one soon, but I'd like a second opinion, and I'd like to know what you think?

It has a long way to go to get there

Nope, Still Bitcoin. Eth has a long to go to upstage Bitcoin. Not really real soon

No, but it's a decent 2nd coin, nothing bad about being the second better

Not happening in next 10 years. Frankly speaking, we may see some new technology gaining more popularity than crypto in that time.

They need to fix the issue of gas fees, probably do more before they can dream of achieving that. But core eth projects E:G eigen can do well in the long run judging from their TVL and strong price actions..

Not in the near future, but live and you'll see what happens :)

It is nowhere bitcoin. Bitcoin acceptance rate is now even faster because if recently approved etfs.

Fess is very high in case of ETH. In BTC also it is high, but btc has a big first mover advantage.

How much is the profit with Eigen layer ? What is minimum investment ?

I don't think it can go above BTC anytime soon

I don’t think so, ETH has been bleeding against BTC for years now and I don’t see it going up anytime soon. There’s also many viable ETH alternatives out there, that’s why their market share is in decline against Solana for example. I love ETH and it’s a solid chain, but BTC is forever king.

Bitcoin’s status as the original cryptocurrency is a difficult hurdle to overcome.

It will always be second after bitcoin. That niche is already taken

BTC’s market dominance is around 56% (and rising), while ETH’s is around 13% (and declining). At this point I think it’s safe to assume that BTC will maintain it’s top position.

Eigenlayer and Layer 0 are mostly dominated by whales and institutions. Newcomers entering Ethereum are just playing pump schemes and don't bother to research how to restake. Ethereum's recent innovations are generally favorable to those who already hold a lot of Ethereum, but not as friendly to newcomers. As a result, there are fewer and fewer new participants (new liquidity) coming in

I am agree to this :- They need to fix the issue of gas fees, probably do more before they can dream of achieving that
