Can anyone tell me how to setup a vpn?

I've been searching on Google and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to use OpenVPN. What platform is PureVPN using? I want to setup something like their service where you configure the VPN over your own Internet connection.

Should I get a linux box or Windows?

In general you might think about not using a VPN as it's really a good bit of work to get it running.
A proxy can do most jobs as well and is easier to maintain.

I'd never use Windows for anything if you are not really forced to use it. (software compatibility etc)
Linux is faster, takes much less ressources (so a cheaper server can be used) and has way more tools and stuff for internet based services.

So if you can handle a linux console -> go for it

Get a Windows VPS, creating a VPN on windows is piece of cake. Don't go for Linux if you don't have enough experince with linux. Then search microsft for the solution, you will find a pdf toturial describing everything . I have done this several times, let me know if you encounter any problems.

A Windows 2008 Server VPN can be setup in about 15 minutes flat. Its extremely easy to do for an experienced server admin. I do them all the time for clients that have no server experience.

VPN is simple! Good bit of work?? u need 3 things Username PW and Host. Under network connections pick add new conn. .....connect to work via vpn ....Input name and pw and host ur set.

How hard was that?

I understand the guy who said its hard sells PROXIES! Proxies are great is u need many ips! U are limited with VPN

I'm using itshidden D OT com and I like it. But most of the ips are banned for CL. So if I make a VPN with my home network that gets good IPs all day... could I run another machine off site and VPN into my home network?

I like to run my bot some times remotely to test campaigns... but not having a changing good IP limits to tests...

i used vpn before and it is better to have a paid vpn account
