is directory submission still effective?
Manually submitting is best. Because most directories have a script that can detect the automatic submission. When the owner finds out that you submitted the site through a software, he will delete your submission entry. Sometimes, the directory owner will ban the software and your IP address so you cannot access it anymore. Once your site is banned from the directories, you will never be able to resubmit again. The domain will be blacklisted and considered as a spam site.

auto-submitter is great but not so effective. If you submitted directories then manual submitting is the right process.
