Hey guys, I've been thinking for a while and had somewhat of an idea in mind. A lot of people might already know about it or whatever, but I thought i'd start a discussion here. I was thinking about promoting some sort of "Free trip" To some place down south, such as a resort or whatever. I'd do this through FB. Then, in order for people to "win" the free trip, they'd have to click on a link that would take them to this locker that would ask them to complete some offer before they would be entered to win. Do you guys think this would work at all? Sorry, I'm kind of new to all of this. What would i use to lock the "giveaway" would i use a content locker, an url locker, etc? Would FB ban my page for doing this? What sort of cpa company would i be able to utilize this with? I'm guessing only incentivized offers would be allowed? Thanks!

Hey thanks for the reply. What do you mean by FB doesn't like this traffic source? Would it ban my page or something of the kind? Do you have any other recommended traffic sources? And what kind of locker would i need to use? A content locker or?... thanks!

From my POV this type of offers have been losing effectiveness in the last years and are not the best option (still profitable but significantly difficult depending on your mediabuying skills)
Personally I hate random giveaways as a source of business. And worst part is that most networks hate this "incentivised" traffic, "do this and win this" (and offers are really bad paid). So the ratio cost/earning is really thight. From my POV incentivised is great for black hat sites, or for services that provide some type of "ego" reward (like games, or points in rankings)
About FB, they would not ban you, but they may not approve your ads easily if they go to your site and see the locker (but you can have a front line visually good landing that leads afterwards to the locker for example: "Do you want to visit XXXXX for free? Click Continue"). But just keep changing the landing until they approve it. If you consider all pros and cons, I think the FB part is the best con...

Thanks for the reply. I see what you mean. Would there be any way to get a lot of FB traffic without having to make Ads? Maybe create multiple FB accounts and have a lot of friends and share in those 100 FB accounts or whatever?

Your idea is good, the implementation is a bit off, imho. I have lots of experience in lots of things, but I'm also wrong sometimes so take it as you will...
There are plenty of affiliates that will take that kind of traffic, all you've to do is TELL YOUR AM. Dammit most of the time greyhat and even most blackhat that's ALL you have to do. Come clean. And remember that for your blackhat to work, ALL parties need to MAKE MONEY. So cover your ass. If your ass is covered, your AM will cover you. Do your work, do it well, and TELL THE DAMNED AM. You ain't gotta give them the method on a platter now, come on... but you need to tell them generally what you're doing. They will generally tell you if they can pay you for that kind of traffic. Beats waking up to a surprise banning, so just do it. AM's have seen it all, trust me. If you get some noob that is scared, ask for or email a higher up manager or owner. Be professional at all times, and you will have that on your side.
Now that being said, if this were my racket, I'd go whole hog. I'd find the biggest nearby city and find the biggest travel agents, pitch them my idea and see if they will give me THE BEST price.
After that, I'd research and find out WHERE THE BUYERS AND WANTERS OF FREE VACATIONS ARE. Shit, that may be the travel agents themselves! Check out google groups, forums, even sales sites like Craigslist and Ebay. One thing that 110% works is fast food or any business that gets a ton of eyeballs every day. Some kid working at a pizza joint could be the person to hook you up. Best believe thinking outside the box will make you some dollars! Do the footwork.

That brings traffic, but not a lot of traffic specially in the beginning. There are plenty of solutions in the forum like Massplanner, that enable some level of automatisation. You can befriend people in facebook randomly but that is not a warranty that they will see your content because FB is pretty selective with their algorithm on what your friends see. Most effective techniques use inbox messaging (but risk of ban increases significantly). So if you take this variables into account is really difficult to bring non-paid traffic from social-networks.
Bringing traffic depends on your target. If you need something really really fast, mediabuy is the only solution and obviously the highest risk (you can lose money).
If you have 3-6 months, you have to be more creative and start thinking on the idea of "viral loops". Consider that this is a pretty random technique and difficult to have it performing, so risk is significantly high (in terms of time) to the point that in 6 month you get nearly nothing (and you need some technical knowledge to implement it)
But if you are planning to live from traffic in >6 months you can build a good automatic network with dozens of accs. that can lead good source and profitable.
And there are other techniques to find traffic, this are the ones i'm more familiar with.

From my POV, Cpaleads an similar networks are killer (in the bad sense) for advertisers you must have a really good long term value proposal or something you can monetize right away (like Pin submits)
