Can AI Make You Immortal?

What if we already have done it in this vast amount of infinite time and space and as conscious universe made a decision to make ourselves mortal in order to factory reset ourselves from time to time so we can experience things again, think about it. You will never experience things the same twice, first time everything has it's thrill, after 3-4 times not much so. After you reincarnate everything is "new". Maybe this is the way how it should be, energy flows throughout the universe, the only reason some people are scared to die is the fear of unknown, but you didn't know where you came from before you were born and if there's infinite time if it happened once it going to happen again. My take is that you should trust the creator, god, universe however you want to call it and enjoy the ride as much as possible. Find a way to impact the world for the better and trust it will level you up on a spiritual path to ascend into a higher frequency being. I swear i don't have energy crystals next to my bed, just something that makes sense in my head lol

No because AI is not consciousness.
but i reckon we'll get to a point where they're indistinguishable,
> upload your brains data into a robot and it'll replicate your behaviour, take in data from its environment and learn.

AI and brain both can make you not just stupid, but retarded.

You understand that you have emotions? Where emotions came from? From your Soul.

You have will to live, improve, act. Depression. It's from your Spirit.

You have a heart that is pumping 247 blood so you can stay alive. Pressure.

By the way, we offer all that in our VIP AI Afterlife Premium pack for only $99,999

do you think AI could actually help humans live forever one day?

No.

(╭ರ_•́) Why would anyone want to live forever anyway?

Why not wish for reincarnation into a bigger better version of your current self. ;)

These 3 inches ain't cutting it... :(

the consciousness and the spirit are probably already immortal
I don't think so. Consciousness leaves you every time you fall asleep. Technically you die every night and wake up a new man with the same memories by morning.

This is what I'm thinking about for a while now: do you think AI could actually help humans live forever one day?

Picture this: our minds, memories, and everything that makes us us getting uploaded into a machine, living on long after our bodies are gone. Sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie but with AI, brain-computer tech, and all the insane stuff happening in science right now, who knows? Maybe immortality is closer than we think.

So, what do you think? Could AI actually make humans immortal, or is it just wishful thinking? I'm curious to hear your take on this!
Imagine living forever and never being able to leave this world. Not for all the gold in the world would such a thing be worth it. Death is an act of compassion. Life is usually very hard and very monotonous. Imagine living with financial needs, always thinking about how to fulfill your commitments and obligations. Now imagine that infinitely. It would be madness for anyone. Life as we know it is made to be finite and if there is a different way of living, it is not yet known. IMHO.

So many unknowns.

The boundary of the oceans, mountains, etc is the Earth. The boundary of the Earth is the solar system. The boundary of the solar system is the Milky Way galaxy,. The boundary of the Milky Way is the Local Group. The boundary of the Local Group is the Virgo Supercluster. The boundary of the Virgo Supercluster is the Laniakea Supercluster. The boundary of the Laniakea Supercluster is the observable universe. What's beyond the observable universe and wherever that ends, what's beyond that, and then what's beyond that end, etc?

I went through this entire post and there are so many great opinions and points made. Months ago Elon predicted that AI will soon surpass human intelligence, becoming so ubiquitous that "intelligence that is biological will be less than 1 per cent". Now many AI leads are saying that companies have run out of data for training their models and have “exhausted” the sum of human knowledge. Sam Altman himself said OpenAI is absolutely certain that AGI is happening this year.

Consciousness does not entirely leave us during sleep; rather, it transitions through different states. That's why we wake up with our memories. Regardless of what many of us believe....a "period" is coming soon that we (including myself) may not be prepared for. They have also been subtle declassyfying information related to aliens while before they were tightlipped. Co-incidence?

We say AI is not "conscious" and we all agree with that. However could AI "hallucinations" a grasp at consciouness?

if it dies every night why does it come back in the morning? The consciousness is not a living being like us to be able to revive on its own volition, so it either dies and disappears for good (which - of course - it doesn't), or it never dies, therefore it's immortal...

Death is an act of compassion.
I don't think I understand this. Care to explain how a biological function (death) can be a human trait?

Life is usually very hard and very monotonous.
for us, at this current time, and in this society that's rigged to reward the brutes... On other planets and for other races of humans life is beautiful and easy... ok, maybe not totally easy, but it's definitely more beautiful and fulfilling than our lives. But that's because they live in normal, well organized societies (based on high morality, high responsibility, high creativity, and the beings themselves are highly moral, kind and self-developing, they're not interested in wars, greed, harming other beings, sexual depravity, drugs and whatnot, like we are)

Imagine living with financial needs
we don't have to imagine this because we are already living it...

Imagine living without finances at all. Imagine all of the people, from all over the planet, getting together and turning the planet into a borderless luxurious green Paradise with sparkling clean waters, moderate climate all over the planet, unlimited healthy food for everyone at every minute of the day or night and everyone being completely free, healthy, happy, mentally, physically and emotionally strong, having access to everything and anything they want without restrictions, and being free to travel / teleport / levitate wherever they want at all times.

In such a normal society everyone would have everything they needed to live 1000s of years in peace and having only 2 goals: creating whatever they want (that can help the planet and population thrive) and bettering themselves.

Such a scenario is possible... well, not today, of course because we are busy accruing wealth, gossiping, and hating on others because they're politically right or left, because they're christians or muslims, or because they're black, white, yellow, etc.. Unless we ALL get rid of these segregations and start caring about each other (so, anglophonic supremacy needs to go and the anglophones, ie. the Brits, the Americans, the Aussies, the Canadians, etc need to start caring about the Palestinians, the Chinese, the Romanians, the Somalis, etc like they were their own siblings... and vice-versa, of course) we won't be able to reach this status of a normal society and we will keep fighting each other while the powers that be keep us enslaved, weak, poor and manipulated. But such a society is very doable, but probably not in the next few 100 years, but it's possible for our grand-grand-grand (20x) children to reach it, but before that happens we need to get our shit together and start acting like one, or else none of us lives to see 2030 without divine or extraterestrial intervention...

Life as we know it is made to be finite and if there is a different way of living, it is not yet known.
maybe it's not known by most of us, but some of us know it. What I explained above is a model of a normal, healthy society that exists in other parts of the Universe

Months ago Elon predicted that AI will soon surpass human intelligence, becoming so ubiquitous that "intelligence that is biological will be less than 1 per cent"
Elon is a sore loser (yes, because I say so) and his lies have no correspondence in reality. Artificial intelligence can never surpass the real intelligence since the AI needs constant input from humans to be able to keep up with our reality in which the AI exists

Sure, the AI is oftentimes more intelligent than most people, but so are the intelligent people, so this is not exclusive to the AI.

As for the 1% part... well, the technocrats need a good whooping, as they're obsessed with technology and artificial stuff more than it's healthy even for themselves. These morons are made up - just like everyone else - from flesh and blood, and they eat and defecate just like the rest of us, so I don't understand this fascination to obsession with AI.

Instead of focusing on, and helping what truly matters in life (the HUMANS), instead they fill the entire planet with machines and try to "humanize" these. Fucking pathologically sick idiots! If I'll ever get my hands on a technocrat like this I'll show him AI: I'll keep him imprisoned and feed him only circuits and transistors for a whole year just so it gets into his retarded brains that humans live on Oxygen, water, food, and environments, not on circuit boards and wires...

Now many AI leads are saying that companies have run out of data for training their models and have “exhausted” the sum of human knowledge.
what a shock, huh? The poor advanced AI is so advanced that it can't surpass us unless we feed it more knowledge. Shocking!

Consciousness does not entirely leave us during sleep; rather, it transitions through different states.
my beliefs too...

Regardless of what many of us believe....a "period" is coming soon that we (including myself) may not be prepared for.
many of us will not be prepared for this (and yes, I include myself too in this given how weak and ill-ridden I've been my entire life)...

But the thing is, if the psychopaths that rule over us cared about us (and about themselves too since, ultimately, we're all in this together) many of us would transition towards the new evolutionary rhythms smoothly and without much pain, but instead of working towards the betterment of everyone (and - again - the betterment of themselves too since they're also humans and are subjected to the same things that everyone else is) these greedy pigs only care about polarizing all wealth and all power in their greasy, dirty hands.

They have also been subtle declassyfying information related to aliens while before they were tightlipped
EXTRATERESTRIALS, NOT aliens. Come on, people, stop insulting our superiors and start calling them what they are.

Alien - while having neutral / impartial connotations initially - has become an insulting word due to the psychopathic Hollywood producers who have always imagined these advanced creatures (that many of us even are descending from) as green, grey, evil, monstrous, etc (see the Alien and Predator movies, for example).

In reality, some of them might be ugly, but a lot of them are more beautiful than even the most beautiful men and women on Earth, so calling them aliens is at least insulting if not outright aggressive :(

Consciousness doesn't "leave" your body when you fall asleep, it's just a different type of brain state, you are still conscious just in a different way

Becoming immortal through AI sounds great until you realize you're stuck with your browser history... forever.

Nice point. Living forever sounds more like a curse than a blessing when you really think about it. Life’s already tough enough with all the bills, stress, and the grind of just getting by, and stretching that out forever? No thanks. The whole point of life having an end is what gives it meaning, right? Without that, it’s just this endless loop of struggle, and yeah, I can totally see how that’d drive anyone mad. Death, in a way, balances the scales, it gives us closure and maybe even a little mercy from all the chaos. But you know, with the way technology’s advancing, there’s always talk about stuff like uploading your mind and memories into some digital space or even a new body. It’s like living forever without the physical wear and tear, at least in theory. But even then, would it really be "you," or just some fancy copy of your thoughts and personality? And imagine carrying all your struggles and emotional baggage into that new existence, like, would it really solve anything, or just stretch out the same problems in a different format? Cool to think about, though, even if it raises a ton of questions we can’t answer yet.

The idea of AI making you immortal is a fascinating and speculative topic that blends technology, science fiction, and philosophy. While the concept of immortality has long been a dream of humanity, AI, in its current form, cannot make you physically immortal.

I see your point, but I’m some disagree. While AI can’t make anyone physically immortal (yet), it opens the door to something we might call "digital immortality." Picture this: a future where your memories, personality, and even thought patterns could be uploaded into a virtual environment or an advanced AI system that mirrors your essence. You wouldn’t be physically walking around, but parts of "you" could continue to interact, learn, and maybe even grow. It’s not the classic version of immortality we see in myths, but it’s still a fascinating way to think about living on in a digital sense. So, while AI won’t stop aging or death, it could let some version of "you" persist in ways that are pretty mind-blowing!

Impossible.

So if consciousness doesn't "leave" the body .How did matter became conscious in the first place bro :)

That’s such a fascinating thought, and honestly, it reminds me of how many things we once thought were impossible are now everyday realities. Not that long ago, the idea of video calling someone on the other side of the world seemed like pure science fiction. Now, we are sitting in your living room and chatting face-to-face with someone across the globe was something only seen in futuristic movies, yet here we are, Zooming and Facetiming like it’s no big deal.

I don't think your idea of AI helping humans achieve some form of immortality is not far-fetched in the same way. Technologies like brain-computer interfaces, neural mapping, and even projects like digital twins are starting to bring us closer to it. Imagine a future where our consciousness could be stored, shared, or even lived beyond our biological limitations. It's wild but so was flying at one point, or even having electricity.

Will we ever fully upload ourselves into a machine and live forever? Who knows. Maybe it won’t be immortality in the way we imagine, but more like a legacy of who we are, our thoughts, choices, and memories preserved in a digital form that interacts with the living.

My question is, if it were an option would you want to live forever digitally?

Im not exactly sure what you're asking me here, but it seems you're asking me a very deep question. Nobody knows how did consciousness occur. Was it always there or was it developed somehow. What i was saying above is scientific fact, they could measure different states of consciousness with brainwaves
