I have had this question for some time.
Some time ago I met a person who all his niches were translated content.

According to your criteria, is it possible? What aspects should be taken into account?

Just translated and copy & paste as is? Probably not. Not long-term anyway.

MUM for example, works with 70+ languages. Maybe this or other algorithm is capable to cross-check and find similarities across multiple languages and mark them as dups. Then it will probably influence rankings.

The idea is to translate an article and verify it so that it is 100% original and as natural as possible.

It will be original compared to English versions of course.

You would need plagiarism checker that works across languages.

I have ranked and sold a website with a lot of translated content. It ranks just fine, however, you have to treat it like any other content. Make sure that it is unique, there are other people translating content as well so make sure to use a good plagiarism checker such as Quetext.

When you translate another article, it will never be 100%, it is machine translated so you have to review it manually and fix any inconsistencies. It has to read well. Structure your article properly, and use portions of different articles (if you need to).

Finally, just because you grabbed an article and it is unique and you have fixed it means nothing if it does not address the search intent properly. You need to read through it and ask yourself, am I answering the search query? If not, then add more to it and make it whole before you post it.

Don't waste your time with translated content, tryied dozen of times, not worth it
Do you end up penalized? My doubt is because I have already seen others that do such a task, and because in theory they end up being original content. :anyway:

Excellent answer, very accurate. Thank you

It's really bad to manage websites with translated content. If you have time to write the content, just use the translated content. Also, the content should be relevant to what you are talking about.
Some of the content is related to the geo-location or particular habits of the non-English speaking country. So you must be very clear to edit the content.

I've only published English-language blogs for over 25 years of my career as an online publisher.

But with that said, there are a lot of members of this forum that translate websites from one language to another.

Take a good look at the IM Journey subforum and do a related search there.

You can see how translated website projects pan out.

There are also several discussions here regarding some of the issues that people have with translated websites.

At the end of the day, regardless of the language that you are targetting, you need to keep an eye on niche competition.

It should theoretically but you need volume too.

if it's auto translate than copy past i doubt it will work.but if you transalte it manually than it can work. since every translation result will be diff.

If you mean it won’t get indexed because it’s copied content, just get your favorite paragraph and translate it a few times from the original to the target and the other way around and you’ll see that more often than not you’ll get a different paragraph even though it was supposed to be the same piece of text.

Ive been doing that for years.

Translated content doesn't work, localized content does.

A niche can be worth it in US, maybe not in your country. Do a thorough kw research first, and check Google trends.

Then make sure that no one is already translating from the same website you use as source.

Then it's time to plan your content. This is no different from content planning in any language. But it's key. Plan content and siloing.

Then you have to test in order to develop the best system to deliver content efficiently. My last test site is growing especially thanks to the May update. All content translated with AI. I then trained two VAs to make the content readable, no more than that, and add the right internal links.

There's a lot more than this, I just hope I've helped.

Translations work, if the localization strategy around them is right. Planning is key.

You can do it if you want to earn in short term.
