can a site become deindexed from non-use?

A few years ago I made a site, decent content, and posted it. The site was indexed. I did no traits with the site for like 2 years. I just checked and it's not indexed anymore. Does this happen?

If the site is offiline , it will get out of serps

non-use, do you mean not updated for a while? Like the last update is around.2 years ago

If your site has no links, nothing at all, then, very likely it can even be deindexed in a week's time instead (sometimes even in a couple of days time). If your site previously has links, but no further updates since 2 years ago, chances are, those links may no longer be there any longer, thus no links = very high chances of getting deindexed. If your site has a lot of links, then that helps ensuring that the site or content is indexed for a longer period of time.

It should not get deindexed. Many of my our sites ain't updated and none of them were deindexed. Check GWMC and see if you have any issues there...

if it's online yes
or if it's online and you just forgot about it do it won't get disappeared, I just posted something like this yesterday and my site was actually ranking for 2 longtail keywords when I checked it after a year
