Sometimes you see sites with like 3000 pages but only 1k traffic. Did these sites get too big for their own good?

I've heard that link juice can be spread too thin if you add too many pages.

What do you think?

Like if you have an authority site on all home services, would it be bad to have 50 pages about tree removal by city? Even if those pages all got traffic? Or would it be better to split a site with lots of city pages like that into a separate site

Yes, you are right. you can minimize your pages by deindexing the image and the page you don't want traffic like- About us, earning disclaimer, contact us etc. only index valuable post and pages. this is the solution I think.

If you have too many pages with bs on it or high bounce rates, it matters. Things like onpage seo and the quality of your content matters substantially in terms of keeping visitors on site and how it is perceived by both visitors as well as search engines.

It's better to have less pages but better quality/engagement than alot of crap.
