Quick question. If i get in direct contact with the publisher of a Forbes post, and they want to edit their post to include my link, does Forbes grant that option?

That is better to contact source owners. They are the ones who make that kind of decision. That could be a hidden option which is provided by request only.
I guess they might start asking about the reasons of editing.

Contact the Forbes contributor. I knew some contributors in the past, who had direct access to publish on the site.
Whether they still have access and will accept a link is a different matter.

If the post mentioned you or your business, You could request the contributor or journalist.
They may accept adding your link, but if you want to get your link in the random article, chances are rare.
