Can a marketplace thread take preorders until a threshold is met?

I was thinking of starting a marketplace thread which works like the kickstarter crowdfunding model..

So I want to take preorders and if let’s say 200 people preorder, then I’ll release it..

Of course it’ll be reviewed by admin first, so the provided information will be vetted..

I won’t take payments until preorders reach the threshold. I’ll be using a service like chargebee which has a preorder feature..

Maybe you should’ve messaged a mod about this? Or at least tagged them in this thread so they could see your post.

On topic, I think you should be fine doing that but ask a mod just to be sure.

Unfortunately, at this time, preselling in the style of a Kickstarter is not something we offer.
There is a no pre-selling policy. As part of our tests we need to trial a working - sale ready - version of whatever it is you'd end up selling.

Sorry - probably not what you wanted to hear. If there is the demand for this sort of thing it's something we could look at soon.
