Your title is wack fammo. Pay them $5 per article until you're making money, then share the wealth with them by paying more. Afterall, they are your friends.

OP if you can choose a better title. Basic writer for link building and PBN stuff start from $1/100 words and for money sites you can get good article from $4/100 words.

As they've stated, articles published in PBN's and blogs specifically created for back linking are not generally in the same category as articles designed to be consumed by end users in a money site. It also depends on where your friends are located, the quality, quantity and length of the articles.

But to pay your friends, start them off with one cent per word. Meaning that a 1,000 word article will net them $10.
Most importantly, you'll want to check the quality of articles they are pushing out.
You don't want them to turn in bullshit and then expect $10.
Make sure each of their articles are thoroughly checked through Hemingway/Grammarly to filter out the kinks.

What you pay for content all depends on your planned strategies for that content.
We have certain clients that pay $500+ for a single article... but that article will take 10+ hours to research / write / proofread / revise.
Just need filler content? Pay less. Have a bunch of friends / parents / local college kids writer articles for $10 each. If you find that a certain writer's content generates more than any of the other writers, then give that specific writer more work. When they start complaining about too much work, give them a raise.
Need content that converts your readers into fans / customers? Pay more. Hire freelance writers that understand your niche, understand the problems your readers are facing, and can provide insight that isn't found any where else. If this content is going to generate thousands of dollars each year for you, then paying more is warranted.
