Since we're in an online publishing platform, I suspect many people would define social media success as traffic going to websites.

Those focused on the bottom line focus on the sales they make.

While it is true that you can generate sales through social media, you have to be deliberate about your social media presence.

You have to get your content in front of the right people.

The good news is in places like Reddit, people are already talking about your niche regardless of what your niche is.

As a social media marketer, your job is to find those areas and present your brand to people.

This doesn't mean spamming people.

You must be credible, so you must participate and be a legit and credible member of those communities.

How do you do this? You share content.

I'm not talking about your content; I'm talking about other people's high-quality content.

But the key is not sharing the link.

Start conversations about them, and once you get that going, you can start sharing media and eventually start sharing your own content.

This is social media marketing in a nutshell.

It's about more than just creating accounts for your blog on different platforms.

They look good but will only benefit you if you share their content in the right places.

And believe me, those right places are not your account pages.

You have to know where your target customers are on those platforms.

Know your audience first then run the campaigns accordingly or hire someone.

Know your audience, age, limit the location for you to get the maximun or leave it general, interest and if they are married, single depending on the type of product or service that you are trying to provide.
