If you have an iPhone 6 it can record in 4k, use that till you have enough money and then buy a DSLR and then use both for different viewing angles in your videos.
Im currently using a canon.
I won't replace the camera! And yes, there are people who record entire videos on there phone.. Look at the producers of wallace and grommit, they made the film DOT on a phone...
Or Tangerine, a hit on the Sundance film festival.. recorded with a Iphone 5S etc etc..
I personally think it's not about the camera or the quality of the camera, but what you do with it! I got some buddy's who still are using 8mm cameras to record footage, people like it and look at it as art...
My conclusion; The camera u use is also a niche! And there are no high or low end camera's that guarantee succes, try to be unique!
No need to buy 4K camera. If you have an iPhone, use it. A lot of people use GoPro for filming pranks.
I am a youtuber, and I purchased Panasonic HC-V 750. I am pretty satisfied with hot it works.
I don't know if I'm allowed to post my videos here.
What is more important, you should think about audio recording.
